Bloom! California: Native Plants for a Bright Tomorrow is a statewide campaign by California Native Plant Society (CNPS) that aims to increase consumer awareness of and demand for native plants. Miridae created a series of illustrative vignettes that demonstrate different ways to design with the eleven plant categories that are the focus of the initiative. The drawings take into consideration a range of garden sizes, site conditions, and aesthetic preferences. They are featured on the Bloom! California website as well as in a printed Consumer Guide that is available at participating nurseries and retailers.
The guide takes into account diverse housing configurations and growing conditions.
A to-scale catalog of plants featured in the vignettes help gardeners get to know the character of different species.
